Tel Dor &  Ein Hod Artist Visit by Diane Abrams   - We began the day driving north along the coast to Kibbutz Nachshloim to meet with Kurt Raveh at the Nautical Museum of Tel Dor. Not only is Kurt extremely interesting, but the museum is a gem,  with the displays for objects found at Tel Dor and of underwater archaeological finds retrieved by the center’s diving team, headed by Kurt. There were ancient artifacts as well as items from the Napoleonic era and all kinds of ship wrecks.  Later on we trekked along the sea and up the Tel (hill) with Kurt as our guide, either by the steep hill or the longer and easier path.  The Tel was so interesting with the archaeological finds, the view of the sea magnificent. Back down the hill and goodbye to Kurt we set out to lunch  at the mall in Or Akiva.  After lunch we drove to the lovely artist village of Ein Hod where we visited the - Nisco Music Box  Museum.  We enjoyed a lovely afternoon with Nissan, our host and collector of these antiques.  To see the history of the programmed music boxes, dating back before the Civil War was amazing – especially the quality of the sound.   They had ‘programmed’ music back then.  All very enlightening and entertaining.  After a short refreshment break on the patio overlooking the area (too bad it was foggy) we returned to the studio for a real surprise – hearing Hativka on a beautiful hand-made organ.  Wow!  It was gorgeous!  On to dinner at a restaurant in Caesarea – it was a wonderful day!
