CAARI participants are now in their routine, work in the morning, lunch and chats about what happened in the schools, how adorable the kids are, the patients who speak many languages and the weeds that need pulling as a result of all the rains and now sunshine. Work to be done by CAARI!.
We haven't mentioned our wonderful hotel staff at the City Hotel. From dining room, to maintenance and the front desk - they are available to give us smile and a 'yom tov' and help us! Thank you all!
After lunch we headed to the Tel Aviv Port to one of the hangers of a dance lesson. Yes, a dance lesson. The dance company is call Mayumana and it was terrific and so much fun. You should have seen us - well, look at the pictures. They use movement, buckets, drumsticks and broomsticks which we used to make different sounds. You will see smiles on all our faces even while concentrating on whether we should be clapping or stomping our feet! Fun, fun fun! Even Neil got into it!
Back to the hotel for dinner and a very interesting speaker, Clila Bau-Cohen,one of the daughters of Joseph & Rebecca Bau who were Holocaust survivors. Steven Speilberg's 1993 film showed the wedding of these two as they were on Shindler's list . But, the interesting part it that Josephy Bau was a talented artist, film maker, but also a quiet man who had many secrets. Even now the sisters are finding about their father, who helped save many people. Over the weekend, several members of the group visited the Bau Museum.
Tomorrow is Friday and a free day for us to enjoy the city or visit family and friends! Some are enjoying dance troupes, concerts and movies, local cafes or just a walk along the beach. We are rally feeling being part of Israel and Tel Avivians.
